What is Bus Attendant’s Vocational Licence (BAVL)?
Prior to driving or working as a bus attendant on a school bus, both the Bus Driver’s Vocational License (BDVL) and the Bus Attendant’s Vocational Licence (BAVL) are required.

Eligibility for Bus Attendant’s Vocational Licence (BAVL)
- Make sure you’re at least 18 years old when applying
- Must be Singapore Citizen
- MedSave contributions must be up to date (if you are self-employed)
- Must have a clean criminal record of the applicant
How and Where to apply?
You can easily submit the application online.
- Login to with the Singpass website
- After that under the Licence Application Tab, search for “BAVL”.
- Fill in the application and upload the documents.
- Then you must pay a non-refundable application fee of $40 via credit card, debit card, or PayPal.
- If all the paperwork is in order, the LTA will issue an in-principle approval letter within 15 working days.
- Any Singapore-registered clinic or hospital, or SATA Diagnostic Centers, can perform the medical examination and chest x-ray.
- You will receive your photo card license via registered mail within 20 working days.

What is the validity of the license?
It is valid for 3 years.
