How to apply for Certification of Registration & Hotel-Keeper’s Licence?

To apply to the Hotels Licensing Board for the following

  • Certificate of Registration to use the premises as a hotel
  • Hotel-Keeper’s licence to enable the person to manage the hotel
  • All hotels should have a valid Certificate of Registration and the Hotel-Keeper’s Licence while the hotel is in operation.
  • The hotel can only begin operations after it has received the e-copies of the Certificate and Licence

Application Period

  • 1 January to 30 November each year only

Processing Time

  • 2 weeks (Minimum) from the pre-opening inspection date

How to apply and procedure to Renew Hotel Licence?

  • To Renew Hotel licence to operate a hotel will expire on 31 December every year, date of licence issuance.
  • Certificate of Registration and Hotel-Keeper’s licence are required under the Hotels Act to operate a hotel.
  • For the renewal of the Certificate of Registration and Hotel-Keeper’s licence only last quarter year.
  • Licensees will be notified by post and email on the renewal application process and requirements.

Note:

Valid Grant of Written Permission (WP), expires no earlier than 1 January of the following year.
Under the Fire Safety Act,  hotels, hostels, boarding houses, etc.must apply/obtain Fire Certificates from the Singapore Civil Defence Force.
